MegaELISA® ANAPLASMA phagocytophilum

MegaELISA® ANAPLASMA phagocytophilum

Field of application:
MegaELISA® ANAPLASMA
phagocytophilum is an enzyme immunoassay for the qualitative detection of IgG antibodies against Anaplasma phagocytophilum in plasma or serum of the dog.

Introduction:
Anaplasmosis is a bacterial-borne infectious disease that can cause various clinical symptoms depending on vector or pathogen species. The agent Anaplasma phagocytophilum mainly occurs in the northern hemisphere causing granulocytotropic anaplasmosis. It plays an important epidemiologic role in dogs. Other mammals as well as humans (zoonosis) can be also infected by a tick bite.

MegaBLOT® LYME IgG

MegaBLOT® LYME IgG

Field of application:
MegaBLOT® LYME IgG
is a LINE immunoassay for the qualitative detection of specific IgG antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato in plasma or serum of the dog.

The LINE Blot Strip has been coated with specific recombinant Borrelia antigens which are applied to defined test line positions on the membrane. Therefore, the test lines appearing during the test can be compared to the Cut-off Control. Because the reading has been standardised, the test can now be read easier and the interpretation is safer.

Introduction:
Borreliosis caused by the borrelia species Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato (B.b.s.l., genospecies B.b. sensu stricto, B. garinii, B. afzelii) is a world-wide spread infectious disease in dogs, other animals and in humans. Ticks that transmit Borrelia (Ixodes ricinus, castor bean tick) are infected up to 30% with Borrelia. In dogs from endemic areas, the antibody prevalence (up to 95%) correlates with dog ownership, dog’s outdoor time and sucking time of the ticks.
